On June 28, I went to Washington DC to spend the day with my spanish friends and with 5 americans. Catherine, a 28 year old girl from Washington, was driving the car and i was sat closed to her. We talked about many things during that 2 hours of journey, and it was exciting cause i realised that USA and Europe aren´t so so differents. Perhaps this is because of the origin of the americans, whose relatives came mainly from Europe.

But I think I was really curious about the high presence of latin and spanish people in the USA. Catherine has lived for many years in one neighbourhood of Washington DC where almost 80% came from El Salvador. She told me that she was realising that each year the spanish has more importance, because more people are coming and is becoming necessary to learn it. She is lucky cause she is now able to understand it, thanks to having been living near those people. Now she is looking forward to go to South America or Spain to improve her skills.

I think spanish will be again important in America, and I like it, but also cause I think it´s not so bad if american people learn another language apart from english, like most of the world do learning it.
