Speaking reflexion week 5 - Shopping in Williamsburg

This time, it was a full-day english weekend. On friday I went to have dinner in a teacher´s house with the other spaniards. Anyway I avoid to speak spanish in any time! Then on saturday I went to Belle isle again, cause it was a great sunny day, so i wanted to have a bath. So I went there with some friends to hang out some hours, and then when I arrived to the GRC, I saw Martha, from the ELP, staying with his son downstairs. They were waiting for Berk to go to Williamsburg to buy clothes. So me and Maria Jesus joined to them, and spent the evening there. After that we went to “5 guys” restaurant to eat some hamburguers and we were talking about many things. We spent a really good day!

Hi Jihye! I think your speech great. Even so there are some things that can be improved, from my modest point of view.

First i will tell you all the good things :) Your speech was really clear to understand, with a good introduction and a good hook. It was a good idea to talk about what did u heard about the Holocaust when u were younger. Then, I think you give good details about the background, dates, an a good explanation about what did it happen. Moreover, is was great that you claimed yout point of view about this topic.

The organisation was clear and well structured. After this introduction you talked about your experience with this guy, and was very curious. Your tone of voice was right and u looked like self-confidence.

On the other hand, the end was too fast! I hadn’t realised that u had finish until I watched the screen. But that’s all. It was very well apart from that!

Finally, I would like to ask you: Do u think that german are still cruel and think like Hitler?

Speaking reflexion week 4 - Party in Manhattan

I went this weekend to New York. I wasn´t alone, as I traveled with other 3 friends from Spain. I know it isn´t the best way to practise to learn english…. but anyway I had the chance to talk to other people yesterday night (Saturday 18th) when I went to party in an hotel.

This was in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, in an hotel which name i don´t remember, perhaps cause i was a litlle drunk. The party was in the terrace of the 7th floor, really cool. There I knew many people from NYC. One of them, with whom I mostly talked, was Brian. We talk about the myths of NYC and other things, such as our future.

He told me that the city is not as dangerous as it look like on TV. Actually I was walking from one bar to other by foot, and nothing happened to me… perhaps I was lucky. Anyway, we talked about much more things that I forgot too, result again of drinking more alcohol I should have drink. But I can assure you that I talked a lot of english!
